Das Bunker Presents: False Face Tour 2014 Part 1

God Module is hitting the road in support of their new album "False Face" this year. Supported by The Witch Was Right and Mordacious, the trio will stomp across america in a two part tour. Part one (western US) will also hold Chamber of Echoes and Product as support. Die Sektor joins as support for the second leg of the tour.

I personally have seen God Module live (once) and it was badass! I was at the Fonda in Hollywood when they were added as support for Combichrist. I became a true fan after seeing the band live. I have followed members of the group online (facebook, Instagram, and twitter ever since) You can get a good sense of Jasyn Bangert's musical influence by the artists he supports and talks about. God Module's horror sounding dark/electro style industrial seems to branch from many different genres and eras. My ears always open up when a good horror/chiller based song is played, and God Module sure does deliver on that!

This spring also holds the release of the new God Module album, False Face. There is a sneak peak of the track, "Destroy the Day" over at Bloodydisgusting.com. The track is a very good indication of what is to come on this album. Very dark, but move-able tracks. I like the seance type sounds of synths being played in God Module's music.

As for the supporting bands, I have yet to see any of them live. I have listened to a lot of The Witch Was Right, I do follow a lot of the members on social media as well. Lead Singer and founding member Trevor Friedrich, was a former member of Combichrist. He got together with a group of musically inclined friends, Abby Nex (guitar) Brandon Richter (drums) and Bobby Schubenski (bass) to create a rock and industrial mixed sound. From what I have heard, I do like the sound of the band. I hope I can make this round of the tour to be able to catch them live. 

The goal for myself is to catch the tour at the Complex show in L.A. there is a second show in San Diego that is also an option but LA is closer to home. It will be like Halloween at the end of winter!

TripTych Tour featuring Imperative Reaction / God Module / System Syn

This summer the industrial / ebm / dark noise fans will rejoice in the new album releases from Imperative Reaction (Imperative Reaction 09/2011), God Module (Seance 09/2011), and System Syn (All Seasons Pass 10/2011)!

Each band has been leaking samples and singles from the album. I have yet to hear a song that I didn't instantly consider a hit! I am usually not a fan of remixes, but there are some damn good ones being released. Imperative Reaction has released 4 versions of their first single, Surface. (I am listening to them as I write this blog) 


If you find all of these bands on Facebook, you can click on their bandpage tab and preview some of the tracks, or even watch the Surface music video.On their Facebook page, you can also find the links to purchase the albums. All three bands are releasing their CDs with special limited edition box sets. God Module is releasing Seance with a specially created Ouija boards. All three bands have also loaded the limited edition boxes with lots of special add-ons. Posters, buttons, stickers,  postcards, books, wristbands, and special limited box set only T-shirts!

When a band releases a CD, I  can only think of one thing.... When will they tour??? I have never seen System Syn or Imperative Reaction perform, and now I can finally get that chance! The Triptych tour was just announced, and all three bands are on the bill. This tour will end its US rounds in LA, at the wonderful Das Bunker, on Halloween weekend!! Although System Syn will not be performing on this date, I can't imagine a better way to start the best holiday of the year :-D

This is going to be an interesting set of bands performing...Clint Carney is a member of all 3 bands!Adam Vex is also going to be doing double stage duty, as a member of both Imperative Reaction and System Syn. Both Adam and Clint have messaged me on Facebook, and confirmed performing with each group.

Tickets are on sale for the Das Bunker show in L.A. I would not sit on this... We should be buying tickets in the near future. (the last show we went to at Das Bunker sold out...)

KMFDM North American Tour

KMFDM have announced US tour dates for early this fall! The month of August will hold 19 dates spanning across the United States and into Toronto, Canada. 

Supporting KMFDM will be Army of The Universe, Human Factors Lab, and (on some dates, including ALL Southern Californian dates) 16 Volt. 

After 27 years of making harsh, beat driven, Industrial music, they are still going strong! I had the opportunity to go to a show on their 25th anniversary US tour. Their music threw me head first into the basis of Industrial music, and I loved it. The music, the style, the fans, I felt in place with everything that night. 

I was also introduced to the band Angelspit that night. Very different than the Industrial style music from what I was used to. I had only listened to the dark, heavy beat, noise of Industrial. Angelspit brought the vocals, club mixed, dance beat EBM style Industrial to me.  Little did I know, I would be introduced to yet another side of Industrial music 8 days later when I would witness Combichrist open for Tiger Army at the Octoberflame event. 

KMFDM will be performing at the Grove of Anaheim Aug 6th, and the The Mayan Aug 8th. Both shows are all ages.

Rammstein @ the Forum

The tour in which I had waited for almost 10 years, had finally arrived. Holding my tickets for a couple of months, did not help with the anticipation. Jenny had been listening to me talk her ear off about what I remembered of their short set at the Pledge of Allegiance Tour back in 2001. Adding to the anticipation of this show, was the fact that Combichrist would be opening for Rammstein. 

This show marked my third Combichrist performance to date. I heard that they were a great opening act for Rammstein, setting a perfect stage. Combichrist did not disappoint. Their set got the crowd pumped and ready for Rammstein to take the stage. 

Combichrist not only is opening for Rammstein, but are touring along side the tour route with their own headlining tour. I was unable to make the previous nights show in Santa Ana, but heard it went well, selling out the Galaxy Theatre. For this set of tours, Abbey Nex, formerly of Pysclon Nine, is joining Combichrist as guitarist. In the previous shows I had attended, Wes Borland had joined Combichrist, so adding a guitarist was not a new concept for me. I was however surprised as to how well Abbey Nex adapted his guitar skills to the music. He was not drowned out by Z-mar's devilish synth lines, or over powering Joe and Trevor's heavy drum beating. He fit in well with the band. If ever to have a fan vote as to whether or not to add Abbey as a permanent member of the band, I will fully support!

Combichrist filled their 35 minute set with a variation of new and old songs. The Crowd, many of which did not know of Combichrist, took to them very well. Their set ended with Combichrist performing Blut Royale with Richard and Paul (guitarists) from Rammstein. My friend Justin, who had never seen them live before, texted me after their set with, "Dude those guys were BAD ASS."

The time had come, I knew Rammstein was set to go on stage at 9pm. The Stage went dark, and out came the greatest Industrial Metal band ever! (well in my opinion at least) Rammstein fresh off receiving the Revolver Golden God award for best live performance, set out to burn down the Forum. Rammstein opened with Rammlied, a subtle starting song, with a heavy riff chorus, that enthralled the seemingly sold out crowd. Not knowing what each song would en-tail, the crowd watched in amazement. Every song performed by Rammstein included an over the top story and pyrotechnic showcase. Everything from: flame throwers, huge explosions, fights with band members, crazed fans set on fire (literally) to exploding baby dolls with laser beams attached to their heads were used in the show. 

Rammstein's stage set was very tall and elaborate. Lights were used at the top as well as from underneath the bands feet. Spot lights would come down from the top, strobing and moving within each song. The stage back drop changed 3 times during their set. When the opening back drop fell, it revealed an elaborate industrial feeling stage. Rammstein chooses to utilize almost all of the human senses during their performances. So much is visually going on, and in sync with the the heart pounding sounds of Rammstein, make for an awesome show! 

I knew the show wouldn't last forever, but I wish it could... Not knowing if and when Rammstein would tour the United States again, I tried to capture as much as possible in pictures, videos, and my memory. I am still in awe from the show. I have been to a lot of shows and this definitely has topped them all. I would think that not even being a fan of their music, one could enjoy their show. I don't think this is a show that I could ever get tired of watching! From the videos I have seen, they do change things up, so I am curious as to how they would out do themselves next.

Front Line Assembly in Santa Ana!

Front Line Assembly will be performing June 9th at the Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana.

I have asked around, and when I am able to get a straight answer as to who is opening for F.L.A.,I will edit and repost.

Tiger Army Show Announced!

Recently Announced, Tiger Army will be celebrating their 15 year anniversary as part of the Orange County Fair's concert lineup. 

October Flame II

Saturday July 30th, at Pacific Coast Amphitheatre, Tiger Army will rock the house. Tickets are on sale at all Ticketmaster outlets.

I must say, Tiger Army puts on a great live performance. Their songs get the crowd  moving, and the energy from the stage flows out into the crowd. I have seen the band once, at October Flame II. I wasn't expecting the crowd to be that crazy, but it was fun!

Monsters on Tour: US part 2

Combichrist have announced Monsters On Tour: US part 2! Dates will run from May 2nd thu June 4th.

Combichrist will be the supporting act for all upcoming US Rammstein shows. During their off days with Rammstein, they will host their own headlining shows. (No Days off for the wicked...)

Combichrist puts on a great live show. They put 100% effort into their entire set. The mixture of fan favorites and new songs works well for the crowd energy. No time was wasted in their set, every second had great industrial/ebm beats pulsing through the crowd :-)

iVardensphere Nov 2010

iVardensphere and Star killer will open the shows for Combichrist. (except for in Santa Ana, iVardensphere will be at the Kinetic Festival) I asked Scott Fox of iVardensphere what the band lineup would be for the upcoming tour, he informed me that himself and Yann would be performing together. When I saw iVardensphere, Nov. 2010, they utilized Taiko drummers to heighten the EBM sounds being produced. Chris Lacroix will not be touring with them on this round, but I was informed that he would be returning to the group for the Kinetic Festival. Scott is nursing a recent hand injury, so tribal drumming from him is kind of out of the equation for him. Scott wants to focus on the crunchy, electronic sounds of iVardensphere on this tour.

Being offered at the Combichrist headlining shows are V.F.I.M. (Very Fucking Important Monster) tickets. Each ticket ($75) includes: your ticket into the venue,early entry into the venue, a V.F.I.M. Laminate, t-shirt, signed poster, and special meet and greet with Combichrist. Limited to 25 per show.

I was able to snag tickets to the May 20th Rammstein / Combichrist show at the Great Western Forum in Inglewood California :-) I'm not sure if I will be able to make the Santa Ana show, but I will definitely try!

Nick 13 Solo Tour

Nick 13 (lead singer of Tiger Army) has announced 2 shows in Los Angeles. June 10th and 11th at the Troubadour. Nick will be performing his newly created country album. 

Nick 13 has always used influences from all genres to make music for Tiger Army, but never really tapped into country fully. During Octoberflame II in 2009, Nick 13 debuted 3 songs from his solo country album. The songs were a big hit with Tiger Army fans. As expected, many fans worry that Tiger Army is no more, but Nick has never stated such, just taking a break. Nick didn't think people would like his country styling, but fans took to each country themed song on Tiger Army's albums.

Slipknot returns

Paul Gray 1972-2010

Still mourning the sudden loss of bassist Paul Gray, Slipknot has announced they will be playing festivals all over Europe this summer. Sonisphere is the big list of festivals coming up for the band. Many have wondered who would join slipknot and fill the bassist slot. On March 10, 2011 slipknot made their announcement. Donnie Steel has been asked to fill the empty slot in the band. Donnie was an original guitar player when the band started, but opted out of the band. In the past few years, Donnie and Paul had reconnected, and had begun rebuilding friendship.

Slipknot states: "Donnie was in the band at the very beginning, and rather than get an outsider, we thought it would be a fitting tribute to Paul to play with someone from within the family. Donnie was great friends with Paul and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate his memory than with someone who was there with us at the very beginning. The eight of us are looking forward to being onstage again and honoring Paul’s legacy with our families in Europe and Brazil this summer."

Seeing Slipknot live is an experience not to miss. I have been fortunate enough to have seen Slipknot perform  on 4 different occasions. The music is very energetic, and the band knows how to grab the audience's attention. They are a band that have not disappointed in any concert setting. Indoors, outdoors, headline show, or at headlining at a festival. They pack everything they can into their alloted time slot.

Just recently, "Clown" from Slipknot, has announced that Slipknot would be touring the US by Mid Summer of 2012... Last I heard their would be an album released in 2012 from the band, so I can only wonder if this would be a tour to follow the album?? Maybe a headlining slot on the Rockstar Mayhem Festival? We'll have to wait and see. Mayhem usually announces their lineup in January, so the wait wont be too long :-)

  

System of A Down Return!

Many have wondered, if the uniting of the band would be short lived, since no American tour dates had been announced. Well last week SOAD announced they would do a short run through the U.S. before they headed to Europe. Yesterday, SOAD announced they would be returning to Los Angeles once again. The show is scheduled for May 24th, 2011 at the Great Western Forum. 

I personally have seen SOAD twice, and both times, they put on a great show. SOAD does not rely on stage props or light shows, but merely a great set list. Each song flows together, gaining energy and momentum. SOAD really know how to capture and energize and audience.

Rammstein to Tour United States

Rammstein have announced a North American Tour this May. The announcement comes after a 10 year hiatus from the United States. 

Rammstein will return with a headlining slot, and full array of pyrotechnics and lasers. Finally they can have a show done their way!  Opening for Rammstein, will be Combichrist. 2 industrial giants in 1 night! 

I was fortunate enough to have met Rammstein through the FYE booth at the San Diego "Pledge of Allegiance" show. This show is going to be welcomed by many North American fans. Rammstein's live show is ranked #1 in most countries around the world. I was able to purchase lower lodge level tickets for Jenny and I. After about 5 minutes, floor and lower lodge tickets sold out, leaving only upper level tickets available.

Aesthetic Perfection

Aesthetic Perfection have announced their first ever U.S. headlining tour. Das Bunker will be hosting the show at the Catch One in LA on 4/22/2011. Faderhead, who have never played on U.S. soil before, will be opening for them. For tickets, GrooveTickets.com or on sale Friday nights at the Das Bunker ticket window.
